Well the fallout from the DOJ shutdown on Full Tilt has put me on Life Tilt.

I really felt I just turned a corner and was starting to win consistently.  I was getting into a good routine putting in some volume and winning.

But, for a several days I didn’t even accept what happened I was just trying to absorb it all and weighing my options.  I was hoping that Full Tilt would come back but that is a pipe dream.  We still dont even have our cash back.   Looks like Full Tilt and PokerStars will be done in US even if by some miracle online poker is regulated and approved in the US.  Even if it happens which it may it will be a considerable amount if time before we can play with that volume online if at all.

So after a few days of being angry and depressed all at the same time, I figured there has to be an alternative site to play on.  So what will it be? I took a positive spin, new start, and the players on these other sites will not be as strong as players on Full Tilt.

I took the plunge and deposited on black chip, lets just say its not even close to Full Tilt.  I know its early and Full Tilt had to grow and improve but I played some turbos and the structure was terrible.  1000 chips and 50-100 blinds for 3 minutes.  Than 100-200.  After 3 minutes it was only 5x BB?  Come on!  and if I could adjust to the structure just not enough volume.  In addition HEM does not support HHs or correctly recording buy ins or winnings.

I tried anyway was moderateley successful and than as of yesterday I hear that as of May 1st two sites on Merge  Netwok Players only and Sportsbook.com will be pulling out of the US market.  If these two skins make up anywhere close to half that’s only 5K. UGHGH!

I am angry at the DOJ, Full Tilt and Pokerstars if they are the ones that caused this but just hoping against hope it is really not the end and another site will pop up with 300 Chip Supers 6 max that has volume so we can get back to playing.

Hopefully Cake will do just that.

In the meantime I can get more depressed watching the hockey playoffs without the Devils.

At least the Flyers got smoked 7-3 and the revolving goalie carousel continues.  Speaking of goalies I feel like a goalie who just got shelled or…..

I feel like Marty must have when the Devils lost to Carolina in Game 7 two years ago when up by 1 with less than a minute to play and  they tie and win it in that span.  Are you kidding me?

What just happened?  That cant happen?  Did it?  Game over? Season Over, I thought we were going to next round next level, its Over?  Cant be? I just want another chance.

Looks like we have to wait until next season for both poker and hockey.

Hi everyone just want to introduce myself, I am Steve from New Jersey.

I have been playing poker for a little more than 5 years.   I started with MTTs and moved to satelites but never won anything consistently, moved to 9 man SNGs and liked the format did better but still took too long and barely grinded out a profit so I ran into 6 max SUPERS and love the action and quick games.  I am a rookie to the program but feel like I have improved a ton already.

Never blogged before so not sure what to write.  Just thought this would be a good outlet to keep me on track with my poker goals.

My poker “career” has many ups and downs with more downs than ups.  I want to win consistently and increase my volume.

My initial profit goal is to  is be profitable at the $5 level in the next 1000 games and have at least an ROI of 3% or more.

My volume goal is to play consistently which has never been easy for me.

As for volume, I have started to get in a good routine of playing a couple hours everyday in the late evenings.  This probably does not seem like much to most of you but that is a huge increase for me.

I would also like to update this blog regularly to keep me on track and share my results, struggles and document my path to poker success.

I am currently at the $5 level and still have a tiny sample size but I am starting to see consistent results.

Looks like now since my Devils had a horrendous season  and missed the playoffs I will have more time for poker.
