There’s a new video posted from a session earlier in the week. It’s got a bit of everything (call ranges, shove ranges, blind vs. blind play, dealing with regs and randoms), but has some really solid heads-up stuff to bring up. I think a lot of players on Merge (and Pokerstars, too) are losing a great deal of value by not playing optimally heads-up. This video covers some of those concepts. Obviously, the heads-up lessons we have go in to much greater detail, but this is a solid starter that will certainly help!

Thanks,

Hi guys,

This will be a lengthy post so it’s been broken down into a few smaller sections.

1.) Threehundredchips.com is not going to become a standalone “video training site”

Since adding the new video page, I’ve received many requests for access to the threehundredchips.com video library. I want to make something clear, I don’t think watching a poker training video alone is the best way to improve. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve been a subscriber to several poker training sites in the past and I think the “watch a coach play and talk about the thought process” can be helpful. However, having a coach actually review your play, provide an analysis of your decisions and turn it into a video that you can watch is much more valuable. I didn’t really grow as a player until I began taking individual lessons and having that feedback on your play is invaluable to improvement.

When this site began, it was intended to be a one-on-one poker experience in which the coach highlights and explains what errors the student is making as well as ways to improve and fix those leaks. Along the way, we’ve provided extras like package programs, short videos, blog options, sweat sessions, a forum and articles, but the addition of more video recordings was something often requested. However, my fear is that students will watch the coach videos and still struggle because they either won’t know where their own mistakes lie or they will be ill-prepared to study on their own.

2) Video access will be given in addition to a one-on-one coaching experience

Super-turbos are brutal, variance-laden games that aren’t for the faint of heart. Threehundredchips.com was designed to help people push through that frustration and become a much better overall player – something that a video alone can’t provide. But, mixing the combination of one-on-one coaching with training videos will be helpful to those that don’t desire multiple lessons at this time.

If you have taken a lesson within the past month, you will receive access to the videos for that month as well as any previous month’s videos where you had a lesson. The videos you receive will stay available to you from that point on. To receive access to the new videos being added, either take a new lesson or request a hand history review during the following month.

3) How many videos will be added?

Quality over quantity: students can expect between 4 and 8 new videos per month. I put a lot of time into making these videos and have received a great deal of positive feedback on them. These videos aren’t like some sites where the coach just plays and throws a few suggestions or basic analyses out.

I take the time to study and develop the concepts I’m presenting and try to produce a high-quality video that students will want to watch many times. Plus, variety is huge for me. Some videos will be live (with a follow-up live analysis), some videos will be “classroom”-style concept videos, some videos cover individual hand histories, some will discuss how to approach playing regulars and randoms, and some videos will just be a few hands that are very detailed.

4) How much will it cost?

Once again, I’m not looking to compete with the large-scale video training sites. But, to meet the rising demand for training videos and to continue to cultivate the one-on-one coaching environment, I will grant access to the increasing library for $75 per month – which will include one personal hand history analysis video. This will be a temporary price amount and will increase as the library grows.

As the video library is a newer feature to the site, I will be making adjustments and improvements. The $75 monthly price is going to increase as more options become available.

5) What you’ll get -

By signing up today for $75, you’ll get access to our “student’s only” section: past Full Tilt Poker videos, Classroom videos, Software “how-to” videos, articles, and the growing monthly video library (will be sent to you separately). You’ll get one coach-reviewed hand history video of your own play (uploaded so that only YOU can see it and access it).

You’ll also receive discounts on lessons and further hand history videos during that month of membership. Current lessons are $150 per hour; $60 per hand history video; package lesson info options; $150 4-tabling commentary review video (contact me about these). As for exact discount pricing, contact me regarding your desired product and I’ll respond promptly.

A few things to keep in mind:

There is no sign-up fee. Simply take a lesson to receive video access or send me a message (contact us) at the top of the page regarding the $75 option. PayPal and Moneybookers are both accepted forms of payment.

Sorry for the long read. I’m sure this post will generate some additional questions that will need to be addressed, but I hope this starts things off well.

Feel free to shoot me a message in the “contact us” section at the top of the page!

Thanks,

The final “coach review” video added to the library was a 30 minute 4-tabling session I played today on Merge. There were several spots that are worth discussing and I hope you’ll check it out. Later this week I’ll do an analysis of the video and the most difficult/common hands.

The only way to gain access to these videos is to take a lesson – so send me an e-mail (in the “Contact Me” section above) and I’ll tell you how we can get started!

Hi everyone -

I’ve started a new series detailing ways that I work around downswings. Not only do I cover my thought process and the mental frustration of the swing, but also my study method to improve my play. Using these study strategies during the downswing, I anticipate coming out of it faster, but also with a stronger knowledge of the theoretical, mental and mathematical parts of the game.

Plus, these issues and scenarios are important for ALL super-turbo players – not just the Merge games! Each video will apply directly to every form of super-turbo out there and should be approached as a guide to help your self-study. My goal is to aid each student in reducing the length and severity of a downswing by improving their study habits and refocusing their attention on what’s most important.

This first video covers important adjustments I’m making to my shove ranges. No HUD or shove chart can encapsulate every situation we encounter daily. Thus, having a simplified approach to these adjustments and knowing what to look for in our opponents will reap big rewards over the long-term. Plus, these issues and scenarios are important for ALL super-turbo players – not just the Merge games!

If you’re a current student and have taken a lesson within the past month, you know where the videos are stored. If you’re interested in getting access to this series and the other videos currently in the threehundredchips library, shoot me an e-mail in the “contact us” section above and I’ll let you know what to do!

Thanks and enjoy,

The third coach review video has been up for a few days, but I just realized no one knew about it yet. These vids are only available to students that have had a lesson within the past month, so shoot me a message to get started!

This video takes an in-depth look at how to approach playing regs, detailed calling range discussion and some bubble/heads-up analysis as well. Plus, I’m reviewing the video from an angle familiar to everyone – watch it to see what I’m talking about.
