m0b’s End of Month Report
Posted by m0bstal0bsta in Uncategorized on February 1, 2011
I like James’ bi-monthly update design and figure this is as good a time as any to get started with it. I wanted to post some of my yearly/monthly goals earlier, but January was a really busy month for us. I’ve been tracking a personal spreadsheet with the time I spend working on threehundredchips materials, playing hours and clerical work. Just a suggestion, but everyone should have some system in place for recording poker details. It has made things a lot easier for me around tax season!
My yearly goal was to average 5,000 games per month (minimum 100 hours). I don’t want to be distracted by a profit goal since that can fluctuate incessantly, but rather set a study goal for review and improvement. I figure the profit will average out over the course of the year as long as I’m playing well.
Totals:
- January: 4590 games
- Hours played: 92.25 hours
- Pre-RB profit: $8951
- Hours coaching: 15
- HH’s reviewed: 18
In the totals above I excluded my rakeback totals since I don’t want to go the hassle of those calculations right now. Third tier Black Card brings it to around 36%, but the addition of Iron Man medals and my rakebacknation rake chase bonus add even more value. With everything added in it probably comes to a little over $14k for the month. Not a bad way to kick off the year.

Site Developments
January was by far the busiest and most productive month yet for threehundredchips.com. Here is a quick rundown of everything that happened this month.
- 1 new student has joined the program (welcome Steve!)
- The lesson request form and HH review request form were added to the site which has greatly increased our efficiency in responding to those requests.
- The forum has basically exploded as almost everyone in the program has reached the required number of games to gain access. We couldn’t be happier with all the discussion that’s happening there. Truly awesome.
- With a little bit of outside help from my folks and my friend Andrew (aka zadpox dot com) I was able to design and develop a nice little spreadsheet system that allows each student to track their progress through their own individual document that gets automatically updated through our master spreadsheets. This is going to save us a TON of time and give them the most up to date information on the lessons they’ve received and the settle up form submissions they’ve sent in.
- One new article (Mental Prep) was added this month, in which we have received a lot of positive feedback on. Kudos to Colin for yet another fine piece of literature.
As of this writing, threehundredchips.com members hold multiple spots on 4 different levels of buy-ins on the sharkscope.com leaderboards for 6max super turbos in 2011. We couldn’t be more proud of this fact and we’re looking forward to the day when each and every member has that spinny little star next to their name. The resiliency of our students is beyond what we could have ever anticipated. Some of them have seen the worst of downswings this month and they somehow maintain the best spirit possible and continue the fight towards improvement everyday. Kudos to you all. I’m looking forward to an even busier and more productive February!
Run well everyone,
James

Mid-month Report
Posted by yardle in Uncategorized on January 16, 2011
Hey everyone!
I’ve decided that I’m going to keep somewhat of a personal blog here on the site where I update semi-monthly on my own experiences on and off the tables. I’ll try to keep it as close to the 1st and 15th of every month as I can.
So far 2011 has been good to me. I’m about 500 games below where I want to be as far as volume is concerned, but I think I stand a good chance of making it back up in the next two weeks. I had a friend in town this last week from Monday to Friday so I wasn’t able to play as much as I wanted to. As far as the results go, I really can’t complain. I’ve managed to maintain a top 3 spot on the Sharkscope leaderboard for $5-15 6-max super turbo sngs which is a nice little boost to the confidence. It’d be fun to see if I could maintain it for the whole year, but I likely won’t be playing many more $10s. Oh well.
As far as this site and the coaching goes, I’m feeling really good about everyone’s progress. We’re starting to get a lot of good dialogue going in the forums and on the blogs, and despite some downswings, I feel like everyone’s game is improving significantly. Colin and I seem to have an endless supply of ideas for improvement to the site, and program as a whole, so things will only get better as time goes on. There are so many videos to be made, articles to be written, and teaching techniques to explore that I find it difficult sometimes to find that balance between playing, teaching, and developing the program. I certainly feel blessed, however, to have such a great group of guys willing to put their trust in us enough to develop them into the game’s best players.
I’m very much looking forward to the next 2 weeks of playing & coaching. Until next time, good luck at the tables everyone.

New Article Posted!
Posted by m0bstal0bsta in Uncategorized on January 16, 2011
Hi everybody,
Over the Christmas holiday I took some time to review my overall super-turbo play. I wasn’t trying to nit-pick single situations or focus solely upon one topic, but instead was looking at my pros and cons as a whole. While brainstorming for new ways to improve, I designed a new article that I believe will help your mental, pre-session edge get started. It has definitely been helping me for the last few weeks.
It’s posted in the articles section and should help everyone to get in the right mindset for playing super-turbos!
Lesson Request Form
Posted by m0bstal0bsta in Uncategorized on January 10, 2011
Hi everybody!
James put together a form in the Student’s Only section that should make things a lot easier for everyone. As your volume nears the next milestone lesson total, check out the coaching calendar to see upcoming availability. Then go to the lesson request form page and enter in the times/dates that will work best for you! Doing this will ensure that we receive the e-mail in an easily accessible manner and will expedite our response times.
Also, we do our best to stay up-to-date with each student’s statistics and game totals, but it is your responsibility to make sure your next milestone lesson is set. So stay on top of your total volume and make sure that you contact us about 100-300 games away from the milestone. That will cut down on your wait time after you’ve hit the required lesson number.
Thanks!
