Hi All,

May has been a strange month. Lots of ups and down in poker and in my life. My live poker is over for the summer but I was getting tired of it anyways and I’m not sure if I plan on running another WSOP Satellite.

I was on a weeks vacation to Turkes and Caicos for a wedding. The resort was amazing. The food was amazing. The sun and sand were amazing. But it was with all of my wifes friends. So I’ve decided I’m not travelling anymore unless I hand pick who I travel with. I have a low tolerance for inane conversations.

One of my friends left for WSOP today, and my father-in-law leaves next week. I really wish I was going. Next year for sure and the rest after that. I have been down the last 2 years and 3 of the last 4. It really sucks to be missing it this year.

My month of poker was disappointing. I got lots of volume in (for me). But the downswing at the end took away my profits. And I managed to get my 2nd month of Ironman. (see my previous blog on the proper way to say “Ironman”)

Profit: -$278.90 

I had a $650 downswing in the last 600 games.

I’m trying my best to study my way out of this downswing. I’ve really focused on HEM and individual players to make great notes on the regs. I gave Colin and James a bit of a break from my HH’s after Black Friday but I’m getting back into my regular patterns now. So get ready guys.  :)

It’s hard to believe it’s June already. My little girl is almost finished her first year of school.  Another Construction season is already started and I’m fairly busy with work.

My job really sucks recently. My stress free gov job is becoming very stressful lately.  I was so mad last night I couldn’t play poker. But I won’t bore you with the details.

I’m hoping for a really great June!

Wow, April was a crazy month. I had my biggest upswing. My biggest downswing. The poker world was turned upside down. Then rightside up, but only for some of us. During April, I hit my $2K profit milestone ……………. 3 times. And I’m hoping to hit it again sometime soon.

I had my 3A milestone lesson and I’ve booked 3B for later this week. I’ve been spending a lot of study time updating my poker notes and getting them organized for the “regs”.

I played just shy of 1600 ST’s last month. I was up in $ for the month but not by much. It shouldn’t be a problem to get 2000 ST’s next month. I managed to get the 1600 and I missed 4-5 days altogether with no playing as I was visiting my parents in the ‘Land of No Internet’.

Outside of poker, my kids had a great Easter. Hopefully they’ll be down from their chocolate highs soon.

Weather has been good here lately. Work is starting to pick up. Summer feels like it’s around the corner. It would be nice to get my boat in the water this summer but that might be wishful thinking.

Not much else new here.

Hi All,

My April didn’t start out too well, the break even stretch at the tail end of March turned into a downswing. I Sharkscoped myself over a 3-5 day period and I had a fish bowl next to my name, but no Star. Even though I was still top 5. I guess it was good camouflage for any opponent smart enough to check up on me.

The good news for this month is I had a great weekend of Super Turbos. I played lots of games and had some run good for a change.

I managed to hit the Top of the Leaderboard for $2-5 on Sunday. The downside, I had to take that spot away from Totoyn. But as of now, 300Chips occupies the top 2 spots.  And 4 spots of the 20.

I’m pretty sure I’ll get IronMan this month. I’ve increased my volume of games and I’m mostly playing $10 now.

My weeks end review was good. I’m happy with my playing. It’s been a good week and April is turning out to be a good one. (if this statement doesn’t jinx me)

Outside of poker. The weather is getting nice here. All the snow is gone but there’s plenty of yardwork to get done. Work is still pretty slow but hopefully will get a few large projects to keep me busy.

Delahunty is harassing me to go to Vegas with him. He forgets he almost got us kicked out of the Imperial Palace and that we almost missed our plane home.  All the more reason I want to go back with him. It was a blast. LOL

Hi All,

March was a bit of a disappointing month. I didn’t reach my volume goal or my $ goal. But I realized I’m not good with these types of goals. My $ goals were on track for the first 3 weeks, but after a losing session I started to dwell more on meeting my goals than playing well. Then nothing seemed to go right.

As for the volume goal. I play when I can so there’s not much more I can do.

I did do lots of studying. My leaks are improving week to week. I’m learning more about HEM and WIZ all the time. And I’m enjoying all the HH reviews. I learn something new in every video.

With my busy home life  (and by busy, I mean chaotic) I have more time available for studying than I do for playing. I can’t play with the kids running around and screaming but I can always sneak away for 10-15 minutes to run filters through HEM or start a HH review. I only play when  the house is quiet and I can concentrate.

I had planned on going for IronMan this month, but I was away over the weekend to visit my parents. (They have no internet. Highspeed is not available. And there is no cell phone coverage. I may as well have been living in a cave)  so I missed getting 250 points for the first 3 days fo April.

My April goals are to increase my volume from March (possibly try for IronMan). I’m not setting a $ goal for myself. My only goal is to play well everyday. And study hard.

I just finished my 4000K Milestone lesson. Another great lesson with lots to think about.

I finished my weeks end review and while there were no huge leaks I am still missing the occasional shove. No where’s close to perfect but I am showing improvement week to week.

I wish Sharkscope would get fixed soon. I’ve done well recently and would like to know where I’m at on the $2-5 Leaderboard. And while I’m happy with a gold star, I wouldn’t mind stealing Totoyn’s diamond star for a bit. 

I am currently behind in my volume goals for the month but slightly ahead in my $ goals. My $ goals may have been slightly low, but I wasn’t sure of the amount of $10 I’d be playing this month.

Away from Super Turbos, I cashed in PokerStars Sunday Million last week. I finished 791 of 59000+ people for a prize of $2128.60. But since then I’ve only been thinking about the money I didn’t win instead of the money I did.

And away from poker, the snow is mostly gone here, and it’s starting to look like Spring.

Well another month went by way too fast. I managed to get 1500 games in for a profit of just over $500. February also had a couple of $250 downswings.

I had 2 milestone lessons this month. Had some great HH videos from Colin and James. Learned some very valuable lessons. I learned lots about HEM and filters and how to find leaks in my game.

I’ve even fixed a few of them.

I plan to set a few small goals for March. I’d like to get at least 2000 games in. And my goal is for $800 profit this month.  (still mostly $5 games with some $10 mixed in.) And I hope to update my blog at least weekly.

In my personal life. I’m really trying to make it to Vegas this summer for the WSOP.

I had a pretty productive day today. I did lots of studying all morning. I reviewed all the past weeks hands with James’ filters. I found my leaks and now know where I have to be more observant. I had my ML2a lesson on Friday afternoon and I’m feeling great about this coming weeks poker. And I just finished a nice sesssion.

And while cleaning up my computer room I found this quote in Doyle Brunsons Book.

“The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary”

I found it very fitting and thought I’d share it.

Hi All.

I’m not really sure what I’ll be including in my blog. Probably a bit of everything. Poker goals. Life goals. Thoughts. Or maybe just me rambling on.

I’ve been putting in a decent amount of volume. Just shy of 3000 games since Dec 22/10. It’s not bad since I’m currently 4 tabling $5 games  (and the occasional $10). And I don’t play any til after my kids are in bed.

I am currently qualifying for IronMan Gold each month. I think I’d burn out if I tried for IronMan without playing at least 6 tables and more $10 games. But ones of my goals is IronMan and eventually Black Card.

I doubt I’ll ever be a professional poker player. I’ve got too good/easy of a job to ever give it up. It will be nice to supplement my income and be able to buy myself some new toys from time to time.  I’ll be happy enough to someday be as rich as my wife thinks we are now. LOL

Years ago, before I was married I had a boat. Right now my goal is to get that boat back in the water.  I’m sure 300Chips will help me reach that goal.

I figure I’ll keep my goals small for now and add to them as I go.

I realize now my poker failings of the past. I didn’t study and I didn’t practice proper bankroll management.  Now I see that my studying is paying off. And I couldn’t be happier with my progress so far (other than a few small downswings).  I’m even handling TILT much better.
